I’m Eugenio. My journey into tech wasn't linear and it has only gotten more interesting.
I initially pursued economics before realizing my true passion was building things with code. Since then, I’ve spent over five years working across tech startups and engineering consultancies in Europe, wearing multiple hats and developing a broad, T-shaped skill set that spans full-stack software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and data-driven product development.
The Current Chapter: Refactoring a Factory
Recently, I made an asymmetric move. I relocated back to Venezuela to take on a massive personal and professional challenge: turning around and modernizing a legacy family food manufacturing business.
In a scrappy turnaround environment, corporate titles don't mean much, so I handle everything IT & Ops. By day, I apply software engineering frameworks to brick-and-mortar operations, replacing broken manual spreadsheets with custom tools, building BI data layers, and debugging supply chain bottlenecks.
Why This Blog Exists
The Asymmetric Journey is my digital laboratory and personal journal. It’s a space where I document the real-world lessons learned from navigating this dual-track path: building products, optimizing physical operations, and exploring the fascinating intersections of technology, business P&L, and self-improvement.
To maintain my deep technical edge and fund this long-term factory turnaround, I also partner with tech startups as a Fractional Product Engineer, shipping high-velocity features and cloud infrastructure asynchronously.
